Native Americans made beautifully poetic names for each month's full moon depending on what was happening in nature at that time of year. July's moon is known as 'The Thunder Moon' or 'Full Buck Moon', or in the UK it may have been known as 'The Hay Moon'.
Whatever we want to call it, the moon is shining biggest and brightest today in the UK in the sign of Capricorn, directly opposite the sun in Cancer.
Capricorn asks you to look at the truths around you, just as the American Indians took notice of what was around them, this full moon calls us to do the same. As Capricorn can bring issues forward that we might have been pushing to one side or ignoring, now might be a good time to listen deeply to ourselves, maybe by journalling, tarot reading or talking things over with our friends.
Sometimes a full moon can feel extra emotional, and the Capricorn full moon may feel like an emotional thunder storm. But, there's nothing like a storm to clear the air and although it may feel over-whelming at the time, practical Capricorn is there to help us through if we open up to our truths and use this time to set intentions for cleansing and transforming ourselves, letting the full moon take any negative or unwanted energy away with it.
