We all have our favourite pieces of jewellery, some we wear everyday and feel naked without (Bondage Ring!), some that are pricey pieces that only come out for special occasions and some statement items that are a talking point whenever we wear them. Some of us wear the same jewellery everyday and some like to switch it up... We wanted to know about the jewellery you wear and love, so we asked our insta-coven to share their jewellery collections and those pieces that feel like a part of them. And, in the spirit of sharing, I share with you my favourite pieces and the rings I never take off... ![]() Name: Clare (@bonearrow) Home: Nottingham Occupation: Jeweller Most played song: Everywhere - Fleetwood Mac Favourite book: 100 Years of Solitude - Gabriel Garcia Marquez Style icons? Courtney love, 90's Angelina, Stevie Nicks Favourite crystal: Black Onyx, Obsidian, Jet... you get the picture! Do you own lots of jewellery or just a few items? I've always been known for wearing the same layered necklaces and rings but I do change them up depending on my mood, or what new pieces I've made. I'll often be inspired by something and create a piece that then becomes my new favourite and often sparks of a new collection, like Modern Mystic which is inspired by circles, the moon and symbolism. What jewellery do you never take off? My Bondage Ring, it's the only jewellery I sleep in. I've worn it for years and years, it's really comfortable. My two best friends have one too so it always makes me think of them. ![]() Name: Hattie (@hattiemccann) Home: Cardiff Occupation: Student Most played song: Never Met a Girl Like You - Edwyn Collins Favourite book: Howl's Moving Castle Style icons? Stevie Nicks, David Bowie, Adam Ant, Claire Fraser (from Outlander - Love me some tartan and woolly mittens!) Favourite crystal: Moonstone Do you own lots of jewellery or just a few items? Loads but I always wear my trusty few pieces. Do you change the jewellery you wear? I occasionally change it up or just layer on top of my everyday jewellery. I change my earrings a lot though. What jewellery do you never take off? I have a Hamilton and Young Moonstone standing stone necklace, a crystal ring on the ring finger of my right hand, which was given to me to wear to prom, a moonstone ring on the middle finger of my right hand. But on my left hand are my most special rings; I have a ring that was given to me by my aunt who suffers from M.S. When I was little I used to sit on her lap and play with it, as it has cubes with runes on them which spin. I have never seen anything like it and it is so special to me. My most recently acquired 'never take off 'jewelry is a gorgeous Clogau Cariad Tree of Life ring from my boyfriend, given to me as a promise ring on my 21st birthday. ![]() Name: Shendel (@morphine_princess) Home: Niagara Falls, Ontario in Canada Occupation: Student at Sheridan College, Preforming Arts major. I currently work in clothing retail at Urban Planet Most played song: Home by Passenger (This changes so often since I'm a huge music junkie) Favourite book: Battle Royale by Koushun Takami Style icons: For sure the Sailor Moon girls in their normal everyday clothes, specifically Sailor Uranus / Haruka Tenoh Favourite Crystal: Big question for a pagan! I love anything that is still raw, I've never really liked tumbled, smooth stones. My go-to Crystal is usually Quartz. But I'm also a fan of Obsidian and dark emerald. Do you own lots of jewellery or just a few items? I feel like I own quiet a bit of jewelry. Mostly necklaces since they are my favourite. Do you change the jewellery you wear? I try to change it up but there are some go-to pieces for me. What jewellery do you never take off? My best friend and I got each other matching Claddagh rings for Christmas without knowing. I also have a ruby ring my mum gave me when I was 10, there isn't anything really special about it, it's just been a thing I play with on my finger. The only time these rings come off is if I'm afraid of losing or ruining them like while swimming or working with clay. ![]() Name: Becca (@beestansfield) Home: A little village called Helmshore, 25 miles North of Manchester Occupation: Homeless Intervention Worker Most played song: At the moment, Simple Things by Ziggy Alberts. Of all time, probably something by Bruce Springsteen Favourite book: Karen Rose is my favourite author. Or, I Am Pilgrim by Terry Hayes is one of the best books I've read in ages! Favourite clothing store: It's a running joke among friends that I should have shares in ASOS because I get so much from there.. But otherwise, Ebay. Style icons: I am inspired my so many beautiful women, but mainly because of who they are rather than what they wear. I learned a long time ago that I felt the best in what I wanted to wear, not what I thought I should wear. Favourite Crystal: Labradorite or Lapis Lazuli. Do you own lots of jewellery or just a few items? I own loads, I'm a total magpie for silver but I rarely wear it all. Do you change the jewellery you wear? I wear a lot of stuff aaaaall the time and occasionally add a fancier necklace or change up a bracelet. What jewellery do you never take off? A plain silver band that was off my Granny's charm bracelet. I wear silver rings on every finger except engagement ring and I occasionally switch out a couple but it tends to be the bunch pictured. But most important to me is my limpet shell necklace. Made by a lovely designer in Cornwall called Nicky Green, she molds real shells and then crafts them in silver and they are beautiful. My mum has a big muscle shell (complete with barnacles!) and she bought me the limpet about 6 or so years ago. I've always collected shells and bits from the beach as I used to live in Cornwall and my heart is by the sea so getting to keep a piece like this close to my heart warms my soul. Mum picked it because I've always had a bit of a fascination with broken things so a broken shell was perfect. I now never take off a simple silver bangle with a small gold coil on it, my mum treated herself to this a few years ago and adores it, last October, out of the blue, she was rushed to hospital having had the worst brain aneurysm possible and was in a coma. I kept her with me every second of the day by wearing this bracelet and i 'worried' it constantly. We were told we would lose her and she defied all the odds and is still with us now and almost back to full mental and physical health! She is a superhero and a miracle and has kindly let me keep the bangle because it has most certainly become a talisman to me, I will never take it off. ![]() Name: Lisa (@sunday0uting) Home: Cologne, Germany Occupation: Department Manager Assistant at a Fashion Company. Most played song: Little of your love from HAIM - over and over again! Favourite book: A discovery of witches by Deborah Harkness. Favourite clothing store: ASOS and Topshop. What was the last item of clothing you bought? A floral summer dress by Free People. Do you own lots of jewellery or just a few items? I own a few special pieces, my favorite ring by German designer Sabrina Dehoff, a necklace and earrings by Gorjana and a few pieces from House of Harlow. Do you change the jewellery you wear? I wear the same pieces like my ring and necklace but switch the earrings for different occasions. What jewellery do you never take off? My ring, which was gifted to me by my mom and grandmother at the beginning of a new chapter in my life. ![]() Name: Gini (@gini.eat.world) Home: Hamburg, Germany, but I grew up in a small town near Cologne. Occupation: Journalist & blogger Most played song: I LOVE Hurricane Love by L.A WOMEN, everything by Dermot Kennedy, and my absolute favourite at the moment is Billie Martin. Favourite book: That’s as hard as if I was to decide what food I liked best! But there are a few books that had a great impact on me: Reasons to stay alive by Matt Haig, Panikherz by Benjamin von Stuckrad-Barre (only in German unfortunately…) and Food Revolution by John Robbins. Favourite clothing store: I try to buy most of my clothes second hand because it’s better for the environment, it’s cheaper most of the time and you’ll find unique pieces that no-one else has. But sometimes I need retail therapy and go shopping in the city. My favourite store here in Hamburg is Monki, and lately WEEKDAY. Internationally speaking I love New Look for their style and if I had more money I’d shop at COS more. What was the last item of clothing you bought? I bought a black velvet culotte at WEEKDAY last week and it’s already my favourite. Favourite crystal? I’m in love with moonstones, rose quartz, pyrite and opals, they look like tiny universes. Do you own lots of jewellery or just a few items? I own a lot but I hardly ever wear them. Do you change the jewellery you wear? I always wear the same very simple and clean pieces, just when there are special occasions I go for statement bracelets or big rings. What jewellery do you never take off? My piercings (Septum, Medusa).
